karenigma I love the way you mix genres, styles, instruments...so beautifully composed, I haven't found many reasons to really like electronic/experimental music until discovering Thy Catafalque and the way you blend it magically into metal- it's perfect. Favorite track: A valóság kazamatái.

bcb723 What a tremendous ride! For albums like this where the ambition is wide-screen and the musical reference points are so varied and complex, my guard immediately goes up as often the artist will succumb to the dreaded "trying too hard" syndrome. However, the artist in question here is Tamás Kátai and he hasn't missed yet. So I let my guard down and just enjoyed the intense but elegantly constructed piece unfold. It really stands alone in sound and composition. Nothing else sounds like "Naiv." Favorite track: Szélvész.

TheEliteExtremophile Naiv is a fantastic, unique record. The music is incredibly ambitious and packed with an impressive amount of ideas. Black metal, electronica, progressive rock, and Hungarian folk somehow fold together into a brilliant blend of unexpected influences.

about

THY CATAFALQUE, the breathtaking project of visionary composer Tamas Katai, returns with the exhilarating new album 'Naiv.' The fourth THY CATAFALQUE album in five years from the prolific Katai, 'Naiv' is yet another style-blending tapestry of progressive metallic rock. The record seamlessly weaves elements of Hungarian folk music, seductive female vocals, colorful horns, and synthwave into a potent cocktail of chimeric and unmissable hard rock splendor.
