I love the way you mix genres, styles, instruments...so beautifully composed, I haven't found many reasons to really like electronic/experimental music until discovering Thy Catafalque and the way you blend it magically into metal- it's perfect.

What a tremendous ride! For albums like this where the ambition is wide-screen and the musical reference points are so varied and complex, my guard immediately goes up as often the artist will succumb to the dreaded "trying too hard" syndrome. However, the artist in question here is Tamás Kátai and he hasn't missed yet. So I let my guard down and just enjoyed the intense but elegantly constructed piece unfold. It really stands alone in sound and composition. Nothing else sounds like "Naiv."
Favorite track: Szélvész.

Naiv is a fantastic, unique record. The music is incredibly ambitious and packed with an impressive amount of ideas. Black metal, electronica, progressive rock, and Hungarian folk somehow fold together into a brilliant blend of unexpected influences.

I first heard "Love Exchange Failure" and was floored by its range of sound and ability to make an eleven minute song flow and make me want more. Lo and behold, the whole album keeps up this theme. I am blown away with how incredible this album is and I would recommend it to fans of prog, black metal, or looking for an album that may scratch an itch they didn't even know they had.
