This is dark, brooding and ominous! Complicated heavy music but you can hear a jazz-influence in the drums. The lyrics are in Hungarian, which adds to the melting pot nicely!

This is definitely my favorite Thy Catafalque. There has been a slow, subtle shift softer from album to album, and Geometria is really well balanced between all sounds.

I happened upon Batushka by clicking on a suggested video on YouTube and Yekteniya 3 was the one that I heard first. From there, I was hooked. Yektoniya 3 constantly haunts me to the point where I have to get my daily/weekly fix of it. Overall the whole Litourgiya album is perfection from start to finish. I am enamored by it all from the chants to the harsh vocals to the energetic guitar playing to the thunderous drums. Excellent!

Love Exchange Failure

I first heard "Love Exchange Failure" and was floored by its range of sound and ability to make an eleven minute song flow and make me want more. Lo and behold, the whole album keeps up this theme. I am blown away with how incredible this album is and I would recommend it to fans of prog, black metal, or looking for an album that may scratch an itch they didn't even know they had.
